Our fourth consecutive annual mission trip to Bogotá, Colombia was a success! In the spirit of Acts 14:21-22, a team of 9 disciples from the Greater Nashville Church took a trip to visit our brothers and sisters and strengthen and encourage them in their walks with God. We went in with an assumption that God was already working, and will continue to work there, and we went to support in God’s work. The church there welcomed us into their homes with open arms for 10 days as we stayed in their homes, evangelized together, served together, and continued to forge our long-standing relationship with them. It’s truly incredible to see that our bond as brothers and sisters in Christ quickly can overcome a language barrier.
A significant highlight of the trip was a conference we assisted in geared towards inspiring the youth of their church to follow and stay faithful to Jesus. The conference was titled “No Soy Suficiente En Él”, or “I’m Not Enough in Him”. It simultaneously addressed the negative message we commonly tell ourselves, while combating it with the truth that we are enough in Christ. The stories go on and on of the ways that disciples were encouraged, those on the fence were encouraged to go all in, or new people were introduced to Jesus for the first time.
This trip is consistently a way that the Greater Nashville Church engages in international missions, is always a mutually beneficial experience, and although it’s only a short time, has become a highlight and a meaningful catalyst for the faith of many.
