Philippians 1:2-6
I thank my God every time I remember you. In all my prayers for all of you, I always pray with joy because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now, being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.
We love all of you so much! This church is our family. Your support and friendship over the years has been invaluable to us.
As many of you know we have suffered much loss of family members and friends over the last few years. My 94-year-old mother recently fell, breaking her leg, and is currently in a rehab center in Gallatin. In our season of life with all the losses, the added responsibility of care for my mother has been very stressful and has taken a toll on us both physically and emotionally.
We would like to thank you all for your patience and grace during this very challenging time.
It is with bittersweet emotions that we want to let all of you know we are retiring from the full-time ministry, and I (Barry) will be stepping down as your elder at the end of the year.
After much prayer and advice, we believe God has led us in making this very difficult decision.
We are so grateful for being a part of this family for 34 years. It has been a privilege and honor serving you in the ministry and as your elder over the last 22 years. We will be staying in the Nashville area and will continue to serve the Greater Nashville Church in any way we can. We look forward to continuing to be a part of the ongoing work of the Pacesetter Ministry.
Please keep us in your prayers as we begin this new chapter of our lives.
We love you all,
B
